Rabbi Yehuda Meyers was born and raised in Chicago. He studied abroad in Israel at Yeshivat Sha’alvim and Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim. Before returning from Israel, he spent time doing outreach with the Jewish community in Berlin, Germany. He studied at Yeshiva University, under the tutelage of Rabbis Hershel Schachter, Mayer Twersky and Shalom Carmy while simultaneously earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Rabbi Meyers received rabbinical ordination (Semichah) from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and an M.A. in Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School.
While earning his Semichah, Rabbi Meyers honed his rabbinic, teaching and leadership skills as Rabbinic Intern at the Riverdale New York Jewish Center, Education Director of the Beit Chaverim Hebrew School, Program Director of Stamford NCSY and Youth Director of the Young Israel of Riverdale. Most recently, he was a Talmud and Tanach teacher at Ida Crown Jewish Academy and a fellow in the Yeshiva University Torah Mitzion Kollel.
In addition to his rabbinic responsibilities, Rabbi Meyers is currently pursuing a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He, his wife Martha, and their four children are excited to be part of the LJCAGBI family.

Joel Lehrfield, PhD. Rabbi Emeritus
Rabbi Joel Lehrfield is a native Chicagoan, and has been the Rabbi at Lincolnwood Jewish Congregation since its creation in 1958. Rabbi Lehrfield was ordained by the Hebrew Theological College in Skokie. He received both his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and studied Talmud in Jerusalem. He has been on the faculty of Loyola University, DePaul University, Mundelein College and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Rabbi Lehrfield is a former officer of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, a member of the Rabbinical Council of America, the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Theological College, and the Chicago Board of Rabbis.
